Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a life-long crafter.
My maternal grandmother started me early doing sewing, embroidery, needlepoint and crochet. Those particular crafts led me into all the other crafts I have done over the years. My love of handmade jewelry design truly started in the late 70’s when my father, a goldsmith, opened his own shop and started creating unique jewelry designs from reclaimed gold and gemstones. My very first ” real job” was to pick the tiny pieces of gold out of the leftover casting material! I loved it.
When my father passed away suddenly in 1983, it took me until after I got married and had my daughter to get back into handmade jewelry design. When my daughter was about 7 years old, we would spend quality time together, having fun, creating and matching Mother/Daughter handmade jewelry designs…Well, she usually got bored after about a 1/2 hour, but “I was now really HOOKED!”
On a weekend trip to see my paternal grandparents, I was introduced to wire-working. I found a copy of Wire Jeweler’s Magazine on the coffee table in their den, and was *in awe* of the pieces I saw in there! My grandfather had been learning lapidary work at the senior center in town, and was creating beautiful cabochons that my grandmother was wire-wrapping. I *KNEW*, at that very moment, that I wanted to do that! My grandmother packed me a box full of Grandpa’s ‘cabs’, and I started wire-working as soon as I got home. That’s when I realized that I had found my true passion. I absolutely love wire-working. Playing with the wire and my pliers, I enjoy seeing the designs that I can create. There is something so relaxing about it, and I *live* for my play time! It was such a rewarding feeling, that I got my mother hooked as well. We have been creating handmade jewelry designs and jewelry making findings ever since.
While designing a jewelry set for a friend’s wedding, I could not find a particular type of headpin that I wanted to use. I wanted to achieve the exact look I was going for with her wedding handmade jewelry design. I then decided that it couldn’t be too difficult to make my own. That is when I started creating my own jewelry making findings. I think handmade jewelry making findings are the unique finish to any handmade jewelry design. Handmade jewelry findings make the piece stand out, giving each jewelry design, its one of a kind, look and feel. Handmade jewelry findings give your designs a more polished finish, making them them professional and unique. That is what handmade jewelry designs deserve.
I design metal findings in sterling silver, gold-fill, brass, copper, bronze, and aluminum. Any of our headpins, earwires, or other jewelry making findings can be made in any of these materials. Please visit so please don’t hesitate to ask about special order findings!
