This past weekend I attended the 32nd Okanagan Artisan Guild Show & Sale at the Best Western Vernon Lodge in Vernon, British Columbia. It was an impressive show. The talent of all mediums was something to see. Of course, I was most in awe of the Handmade Jewelry Designers and that each of them were so very unique to their own style and craft. This is something that I must share with you! I cannot help but give raving reviews to the amazing talent that I encountered yesterday.
Lisa Lutz – BeadCrazed – Handmade Glass Art Bead & Jewelry Artisan
I want to introduce you to Lisa Lutz, handmade glass bead artist and jewelry designer. I so enjoyed seeing Lisa’s work; both her creative bead design and her ability to extend that creativity to utilize her own beads to create one of a kind, handcrafted jewelry pieces. In our conversation, Lisa relayed that it was important “…that her jewelry designs incorporate her own handmade components.” That is really what handmade jewelry design is all about.
Lisa comments that she has been creative from an early age. Her Nana taught her to sew, and by eight years old she was designing clothes for Barbie! Her love and need to be creative continued. Other interests are wirework, ArtClay, silver and metalsmithing. Her quest in looking for the perfect bead, led her to lampworking and this glass “hobby” quickly turned into a bead crazed obsession.
Lisa is a well respected, handmade lampwork glass bead and jewellery artisan and her mission is to “share her love of glass art and encourage support for independant artists and handcrafted creations.” She not only participates in the Okanagan Artisan Guild Show & Sale each year, but you can also find her handmade glass bead and jewellery designs at Fabulous Finds in Spring and Fall at the Summer Hill Winery and For the Love of Art Almighty, held at the Rotary Center For Arts in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
In her Etsy Shop, BeadCrazed, by Lisa Lutz, you will find one of a kind handmade lampwork glass beads, jewellery and beaded accessories. Each bead is a small work of art, made one at a time, in her home studio in Kelowna, BC. She uses the finest components in her finished jewelry including .925 sterling silver, gold vermeil, freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones and genuine Swarovski crystals.
Below are all the places to find Lisa Lutz and BeadCrazed. Go and explore. Enjoy!
